About Me
Hillary Murphy, LMHC | Owner & Therapist
Hi there! I’m a licensed mental health counselor who specializes in helping people break free from obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Assumption University and my Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from American International College (AIC). During graduate school, I completed an internship at an elementary school that deepened my love for supporting kids as they develop emotional awareness and confidence.
Over the years, I’ve worked in a variety of settings — from an adolescent residential program to several roles within the Children’s Behavioral Health Initiative (CBHI). In 2021, I opened my private practice, and by 2024, I decided to focus exclusively on treating OCD. I’m ERP Certified through the Cognitive Behavior Institute and am passionate about using evidence-based tools to help people find freedom from OCD’s grip.
My approach is compassionate yet structured. I use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to help clients build confidence in facing their fears, while also integrating techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to best support each person’s unique needs.
I’m also a member of the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF) and love continuing to learn and grow in this field.
Outside of work, I enjoy exercising, spending time with friends and family, and getting outdoors whenever I can.
